Transform Your Stories with Tap and Write
Welcome to the W.I.S.E.R. Woman’s Tap and Write Studio
Why Tap and Write you ask?
You might be a woman navigating transitions, stuck in the “messy” middle, wishing you had a safe place to unravel your stories.
You might be craving an experience to explore your deepest thoughts, feelings, desires or situations, but you’re not sure how.
You might be wanting to release stress or searching for deeper clarity but can’t quite do it on your own.
You might be feeling the need to write authentically but you’re not sure where to start.
You might be someone who’s searching for answers to who she is now and who she’s becoming as she ages, but it feels like a lot to take on all at once.
What’s so special about Tap and Write?
The unique combination of using EFT Tapping (Emotional Freedom Techniques) with guided therapeutic/reflective writing opens the door to your inner world in a way that is respectful and gentle, and yet effective.
Through Tapping, you’ll calm your mind and body, lower cortisol levels, and invite your subconscious to emerge so you can explore issues, feelings, thoughts, events, and memories. It’ll support you as you begin your writing journey.
Writing prompts, specially designed and thought out with your safety and emotional well-being in mind, allow you to explore deeper parts of you not easily accessed by thinking alone.
It’s a process where you’ll find yourself in a place of trust that what emerges through your writing is meant to support you in your journey, help untangle the messiness, release memories, or explore new directions and find new questions to ask.
And, you’ll be supported in a small group, a safe space, a no-judgment zone, with other women on their own writing journeys with you.
Most importantly, Tap and Write helps us to understand a variety of perspectives so that you can embody and live more fully as a W.I.S.E.R. Woman.
I promise that if you’re open to it, you’ll leave Tap and Write Circles with at least one insight or takeaway, perhaps a new community, a renewed love for a writing or journaling practice, or a desire to learn more about Tapping!
The possibilities are endless!
What is Tapping?
Emotional Freedom Techniques or EFT or Tapping works to relax the body and calm the mind. Tapping gently on specific acupressure points on the body with our fingers, helps regulate our nervous system, lowering our stress levels, often quickly and easily. It is a powerful tool combining ancient acupressure with modern psychology.
Tapping helps balance our energy flow, lowering our body’s cortisol levels, allowing our minds to feel clearer. It is used therapeutically as well as personally, to address emotional and physical issues so that we feel grounded and centered, calm and relaxed, more able to think clearly and find clarity in even the most challenging of situations.
Tapping can be done quietly, with or without words. It can be paired with gentle breathing. It invites our bodies to relax and our minds to open and soon we notice our shoulders softening, our breathing deeper, our minds letting go of thoughts while opening to the possibilities not thought of before tapping. It’s why we tap before writing!
Join me in this short video as I show you the Tapping points.
Won’t you join me in the Studio?
When I discovered tapping (emotional freedom techniques or EFT), I was excited to have found a tool that could both calm my body and open my mind up to possibilities not thought of before.
And then, when I discovered expressive/therapeutic writing, I knew that putting these two powerful tools together would be a winning combination!
Won’t you join me to “Tap and Write” in a small, intimate group of women?
Together we’ll explore events, feelings, beliefs, all through the use of tapping briefly and a variety of writing tools that allow us to see, feel and experience our lives from a different perspective. The freedom and depth we receive from first calming our bodies and opening our minds, then writing is transformative, allowing a new take on an old, perhaps outdated perspective.
Wouldn’t you LOVE to create a new story and let go of the one that’s kept you stuck? What would it be like for you to see an old version of events from a new light? Imagine your delight when hear a calming voice inside your head instead of the harsh, critical one you’re tired of!

If you have some ideas or themes you’d like to explore through Tap and Write, please let me know by clicking the button!
Themes for Exploration:
All or nothing to Something,
Aging,
Love & Relationships,
Spirituality,
Embracing Change,
Bodies,
Mindfulness, Silence & Connection,
and more.
I don’t share the themes prior to the Tap and Write Circles - at least not now! I want you to enter with an open mind, free from expectations, allowing your life’s themes to emerge naturally. Each Circle session is creatively and thoughtfully crafted to invite exploration and growth without prior thought or preparation about what you might write.
To help you get ready to write, I prepare prompts and questions, inspired by poetry, stories, quotes, music, art, metaphors, and special exercises. We’ll talk about the themes they’re connected with as we go. Each will mean something different to you, with the potential to create meaningful change and navigate transitions with more ease, self-compassion, and grace.
I promise that if you’re open to it, you’ll discover at least one insight or takeaway, something that resonates, prompts you to explore more, ask different questions, go deeper. The possibilities are endless!

Here’s How It Works:
Tap and Write Circles are a personal journey into self-discovery, creative expression, and dare I say, healing. If you’re a woman who might still be uncertain about whether Tap and Write is for you, read on…
Small Groups: Tap and Write Circles take place in small groups to create a safe, intimate space where you can feel heard and seen. With 4-8 women in each Circle, you have the freedom to share your writing and thoughts - but only what you’re comfortable sharing. Introvert or extrovert or a combination of the two - all are welcome!
Tapping (EFT): Whether you tap or not in this shared space, you’ll benefit from the energy created by each person who does tap. Your body will soften as it lets go of tension and stress, and your sigh will signal your arrival to the present moment. Even better is that you tap along.
The Process: Although I naturally leave room for flexibility in the process, you’re guided to tap before writing for short bouts of 6-10 minutes. We then tap again before writing for the second time. And, while you are guided to write with your safety and emotional well-being in mind, I’m aware that emotions and thoughts can take us by surprise. If you feel suddenly flooded or overwhelmed, please let me know so you can receive the support and care you deserve. This is a process requiring self-responsibility and self-compassion all rolled into one!
What to Expect:
Join a small intimate group of women on zoom where you will feel welcome and supported as you explore events, feelings, thoughts or beliefs.
Feel free to share your writing - or not! No judgement in this safe space.
Bring a pen/pencil and your favorite notebook or journal - you’ll be writing in it! Have water and kleenex available and be in a comfortable, private space.
Each session is 75-90 minutes.
While it would be great to have Tapped (EFT) before, come and join us if you haven’t and follow along or just enjoy the benefits while others tap. If you’d like to learn how to tap prior to joining the next 4 sessions, contact Joan!
No writing experience required. There is no expectation that you’re a writer, have perfect spelling or grammar. These sessions do require that you like or enjoy writing, or that you have a regular writing or journaling practice.
This is not a therapy group. While it can be therapeutic to tap and write, please assess where you’re at with your mental health and if you need therapy or counselling, this isn’t the place to start. The expectation is that you can support yourself as we tap and write in addition to the support you’ll receive from Joan and the group.
Recording the sessions - only if the group would like it and agrees.
You’re a woman willing to try something new, open to the possibility of processing and transforming something that has been on your mind or niggling at your heart.

What People Are Saying…
Joan, you did an excellent job of facilitating. I felt welcome in the group and at ease sharing. I liked the opening tapping, scripted to relax us and allow our subconscious minds to speak to us. I enoyed the prompts on Day 2. The poem and the song were well chosen and thought provoking.

Joan's Tap and Write Sessions were exactly what I needed to get unstuck. I had tried tapping in the past and I was not fond of the process, but I decided to give it a try as it had been many years ago. I love journalling so I thought I would try the two together. It was great! Joan is a very warm and caring life coach. She had a wonderful way of getting me to relax and allow an oppenness to some beautiful healing in just the 2 sessions!

Joan is very skilled in EFT but combining it with the writing portion made it unique and helped me get in touch with my inner-self. It was thought-provoking for me. While I'm not always good at journaling, this made the whole writing experience unique as well as helping me to hone my journaling skills. This is a perfect way to have break-throughs in your life, especially if you are stuck in a certain area.

I recently had the opportunity to participate in Joan’s Tap and Write workshop, and it was a transformative experience. I entered with an emotional concern that I had been trying to analyse and resolve by thinking it over to seek understanding. With Joan’s careful and sensitive guidance, I felt completely safe to explore these emotions in a new way. Her approach allowed me to uncover thoughts and feelings that I hadn’t been aware of, all within a safe and supportive environment.
For someone like me, who thinks a lot and typically relies on thinking things through with a more logical tendency, and for whom journaling or expressive writing feels hard, this journey was a revelation. The process of combining tapping with writing helped me to see new perspectives and gave me a sense of control over the issue I was dealing with. If you, like me, have been trying to solve emotional concerns solely with your mind, I highly recommend this workshop. It opened up new personal insights and healing path.

In the Tap and Write Studio, Tapping (EFT) and Therapeutic/Expressive Writing are two of the tools we explore together - other tools I use here and in my coaching practice are NLP, The Heartstream Process, Energy Healing, Choice Theory, and others I’ve learned along the way.
